TWO BRONSE MEDALS FOR ESTONIA 8.11.2005
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2005
Estonian team successfuly participated in World Championships in kuckboxing in Hungagian town Szeged . Maris Jyeveer and Timur Hamidullin won the bronse medals. In Estonian national kickboxing team there were 5 fighters: Hannes Perk and Anneli Terep (Shaolin Tallinn), Maris Jyeveer (Sportsschool Johvi), Timur Hamidullin and Jevgeni Vassilenko («Budo» Tallinn). Maris Jyeveer, Anneli Terep and Hannes Perk were fighting in full-contact, Timur Hamidullin and Jevgeni Vassilenko in light-contact. |

Unfortunately last year european brose Hannes Perk could not pass to semifinals . He won his first fight with britt Stephen Primrose but in 1/8 finals he couldnt be over of blackskinned fighter from France Mamadou Traore, to whom he lost in a hard fight by points 1 : 2. Mamadou has wos the silver medal on this championships loosing his final match against russian Denis Grachev. |

Anneli Terep was not lucky with draw . Before passing to quater-final match she had to make a preliminary match with agressive italian Letizia Bitozzi. Anneli was winning the first round, but unfortunaly lost by points second and third. She was not yet so experience to participate in the competitions of so high level. It was the first international big competition for her. |

Maris Jyeveer has won the first quater-final match against italian Claudia Mattuzzi and met in semifinal with german Fatma Akyuz. In very hard match Maris lost to german fighter, who became a World Champion in weight -52 kg. Maris won only bronse medal. |

Jevgeny Vassilenko has won the first match against irish fighter Howard Malone and passed to quater-final. Unfortunately he lost the second match to hungarian Jeno Novak and couldnt pass to medal-match against russian Marat Pukhaev. In weight -69 kg Timur Hamidullin has won the first match with Cypros fighter Petrou Panagiotis. Then Timur has won the second quater-final match with inglishman Audifax Kinga and passed to semifinal, where against him was very experienced fighter from Russia several times world champion Ruslan Ishmakov. Unfortunately Timur could not defeat experienced russian fighter and has won only bronse medal. Russian fighter became again the world champion of this year. |

According to the ranking of best judges of the championships Dmitri Petrjakov and Yuri Lahtikov (representatives of Estonia) was called the best of this year.
